RED DEER – That’s a wrap on round robin play at the end of day three. Seedings for championship Sunday are set!
South Green and North Yellow kicked off the morning with a tight 2-2 tie. Today’s game sealed North Yellow as the one seed with South Green the second seed. Tomorrow’s Championship game will be a rematch between the two squads at 2:30 p.m.
The second game of the day saw South Black defeat South White in a high energy battle, ending 4-2. This win pushed South Black into the third spot in final standings and clinching their spot in the bronze medal match up.
North Grey and North Blue laced up for the final round robin game of the tournament. North Blue came out strong from the first whistle and put up a 3-1 lead at the end of the first period before Grey came back to tie it 3-3 in the second. The game finally ended with a 6-3 result for North Blue, securing them as the fifth seed.
Sunday hosts three games starting at 9:30 a.m. where North Grey and North Blue for the 5/6 final. South Black and South White will face-off for bronze at 12:00 p.m. and North Yellow will play South Green in the Alberta Challenge Championship Game at 2:30 p.m.
